Shen Dalin is a local of Tianchang. After graduation, he has been working hard in the building materials industry and has achieved considerable success. But as he reached his thirties, he felt more and more that a man should settle down, find a stable career, and work steadfastly until retirement. He spent a lot of effort visiting and comparing various enterprises in the development zone, and ultimately chose Kanghong Company.

In his own words, "The company has built a new factory in the development zone, and I just came in just in time for development, with many opportunities for growth. I also heard that Kang Hong has a deep background and strong strength. 2、 Introduction: From an outsider to an insider, take root in a high-temperature workshop

In 2023, when I first entered the factory, the company sent Shen Dalin to study at the old factory in Tongcheng. Just as it was scorching hot, the workshop was scorching hot. He later recalled, "I only found out when I entered the old factory in Tongcheng that it was not easy to make qualified steel pipes from raw materials, and it was even harder for the workers. But watching the entire company produce with vitality, I feel full of hope and enthusiasm

He started learning from the grassroots level, step by step: first, he walked into the perforation workshop and watched how the red round rod was pushed into hollow capillaries; Go back to the cold drawing workshop and see how rough tubes become smooth and precise through repeated drawing processes; Continuing into the heat treatment process, understanding the structure of the heat treatment furnace, the essentials of temperature control, and why heat treatment is necessary; Finally, I walked into the quality inspection workshop and learned how to operate the flaw detector, adjust the flaw detection parameters, and understand that different grades of steel require different flaw detection standards.

During that period, the senior employees provided careful guidance, and Shen Dalin himself was diligent and willing to ask questions if he didn't understand. Everyone also shared their knowledge with him. Over the course of several months, he not only gained a thorough understanding of the entire process of steel pipe production, inspection, and packaging, but also learned standard operating procedures (SOP) and standard inspection manuals (SIP). He also delved into the operation of the company's non oxidizing furnace - this foundation laid the most crucial foundation for his future management of the non oxidizing production line at Tianchang New Factory.

Man, Machine, Material, Method, Environment, and Measurement are the six major elements in the production process. Measurement is the basic work of internal management in enterprises. In addition to learning production knowledge, Shen Dalin also learned 5S management, safety management, daily cleaning, inspection, fastening, and lubrication of equipment in the workshop. He followed his old colleagues to learn workshop environment management and equipment management. This is a subtle and silent process of moistening things, during which Shen Dalin has grown quietly.

It was only after entering the industry that he realized that outsiders see the excitement, while experts see the tricks: behind a seemingly ordinary steel pipe is an extremely complex process that requires the factory's long-term technical accumulation, experience accumulation, and even talent and equipment reserves. Every link is indispensable.

3、 Assumption: In the face of danger, take on the responsibility of three workshops

When I returned to Tianchang New Factory after completing my studies, it was still in a state of simultaneous construction and production. The company leaders were impressed by Shen Dalin's serious and conscientious attitude, and boldly entrusted him with the positions of responsible persons for the acid pickling, rolling mill, and packaging workshops without hesitation in personnel selection.

Shen Dalin later admitted, "To be honest, I was moved by the company's bold decision to hire me as a newcomer, but the pressure was also high. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to handle so many things from the beginning." This statement is true - as a newcomer, taking over three workshops at once is indeed a heavy burden on my shoulders. During that time, he wavered and couldn't sleep well all night: unstable production, unfamiliar equipment, frequent personnel turnover, shortage of professional workers, and various problems followed one after another.

It was the company leaders who promptly advised him: 'If you're not familiar, let's learn together; if there are few workers, let's work together; if there are difficulties, let's shoulder them together.' This trust and fighting side by side became his most steadfast confidence. After a period of wrestling, Shen Dalin gradually gained a clear understanding of the management of several workshops.

With the joint efforts of Shen Dalin and all employees, the timely delivery rate and yield rate of products in the new factory have been greatly improved. The digital production MES system has been promoted to serve the internal management of the company.

4、 Challenge: Facing high-end alloy steel, leading the team to tackle tough challenges

The hurdle of management has just passed, and bigger tests are coming one after another. With the upgrading of products towards high-end, the requirements for heat treatment processes and inspection levels are becoming increasingly high. In the second half of 2025, the company successively won orders from several large boiler factories in China, involving various alloy steel grades such as 12Cr1MoVG, 15CrMoG, T22, T5, T91, etc., with large wall thickness and high difficulty. Steel pipes always have problems after heat treatment after rolling, which undoubtedly poses a severe challenge to the process and professionalism.

Shen Dalin led his employees to explore little by little: if they didn't understand, they would consult the engineers in the factory and equipment experts outside, review materials, and repeatedly test. The defect rate gradually decreased through adjustments. In the end, with the joint efforts of all employees, this batch of products was delivered on schedule and there were zero complaints of defects - opening up the high-end user market for the company's non oxidized bright alloy ultra long tubes and contributing a key link.

5、 Deep cultivation: Practice brings true knowledge and passes on skills to more people

In the field of non-destructive testing, Shen Dalin also adheres to the principle of "practice leads to truth". He followed his new colleagues to study eddy current testing, ultrasonic testing, and hydraulic testing: from initially debugging the testing machine, to later finely adjusting equipment sensitivity, identifying and processing steel pipe defects for different steel grades, step by step, he grew into a skilled hand in the field of testing. He led by example and brought out batches of new employees step by step. He was the manager and commander of the site, leading the newcomers with direction and gradually becoming the backbone of the workers' hearts.

At the same time, Shen Dalin is good at identifying and analyzing problems, timely researching with colleagues and leaders, and daring to put forward his own opinions, which not only ensures the normal operation of production, but also maximizes cost savings for the company.
